Long time church-secretary, Charlotte Mullen, of Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield retired after serving the church 48 years. Charlotte began her career in September 1976 under Pastor Donald Pruitt, who began pastoring in October 1974. She worked alongside him until he retired in 1989. She served about three years with Pastor Tommy Hall (from 1989 to 1993) and twenty-eight years (from 1993 to 2022) with Pastor Terry Skinner until he retired in January of 2022.

Charlotte is the wife of Clois “Buddy” Mullen and joined Calvary after they married in 1958. Charlotte grew up in Teague, the daughter of Katherine and Edwin Beaver. She has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 65 years. She also sang in the choir for numerous years and taught several different Sunday school classes, GMAs, and Vacation Bible School. She served in the bus ministry, as well as, the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. Mrs. Mullen currently holds the position of church clerk, which she has held for many years. Charlotte is the true epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman… a price far above rubies!

A dinner and reception were given in her honor on Sunday, Nov. 10 in the Calvary Life Center with her son, Marvin Mullen, deacon chairman, presenting her with a special retirement offering from the church. Charlotte has been a great blessing to the church all these many years and her smiling face will certainly be missed in the church office.
