Leonard T Norton (L.T.), a loving father & grandfather, a proud patriotic veteran, passed away on October 27th in the presence of both his sons.
Born July 14th, 1943, just outside Wortham, Texas, Leonard grew up with a strong sense of family and values, which he instilled in his own children.
After graduating from Wortham High School, he married Judy Hanson, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and faithfully served his country for the next 24 years, from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida to Del Rio, retiring in Anchorage Alaska. They had two sons, Rodney and Jason.
Leonard was never happier than when he had a fishing pole in his hand or putting a worm on the hook for one of his grandkids.
His love of sports, whether playing, coaching or watching with his boys filled many of his weeknights and weekends.
His strong belief in his Lord and Savior blessed his life and that of his family.
Leonard was proceeded in death by his parents John Calvin Norton & Mary Jane Mandeville Norton., brothers Lorenzo David Norton, Thurman Edell Norton & niece Nina Kay Slaughter.
He is survived by his son Rodney Norton and wife Julie, Son Jason Norton & wife Molly, who gave him his pride and joy, his Grandson, Augustus “Gus” and twins Sadie & Sam Norton. He is also survived by sister Mary Imogene Slaughter & her husband Herbert Earl Slaughter and their daughter Nikki Mills and her daughter Ali Mills. Along with nephews Larry & Mike Norton & their sister Patti.
A small memorial service will be held on November 16th from 1-3pm at the Methodist Church in Wortham, Tx.
