Huntington kicked off and Fairfield scored on the first play from scrimmage. Collins pump faked and hit Cal Wilson in stride, and he caught it and trotted into the endzone on the 53-yard touchdown. King added the first of eight extra points, and the lead was Fairfield’s for the rest of the night.

Fairfield stopped the Red Devil offense without a first down for most of the quarter and Collins and Wilson connected for the second of three times, this one from 54 yards out. The Eagles covered the kick and Connor Colvert caught a 22-yard touchdown pass to increase the lead to 21-0.

The final score of the first quarter was another long play to Finn Smith across the middle and the Eagles held a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Justus Savage and Jerimiah Hudson, along with McGowan and Jason Brackens made defensive plays and Smith put the final touchdown on the board before the half on an 11-yard jet sweep.
