September 17, 2024 marks the two hundred thirty-seventh anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution.

Members of the Jonathan Hardin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) witness the signing of a proclamation by Freestone County Judge Linda K. Grant declaring the week of September 17-23, 2024 as Constitution Week.

Citizens are encouraged to “reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties.”

One of the largest patriotic women’s organizations in the world, DAR seeks to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism via commemorative events, scholarships and educational initiatives.
