Fort Boggy State Park is an 1800-acre site on Sullivan Lake that offers hiking, biking and water sports. They are located at 4994 Hwy 75 S in Centerville, Texas 75833.

With no grocery store, how did the settlers survive at Fort Boggy? Ranger Heather will point out the natural resources at the park that the settlers would have used in their day to day lives. At the end of the hike, there will be a few items to sample.

Cattle Ranch at Fort Boggy

The Sullivan family used the land at Fort Boggy as a cattle ranch for a period of time. We are going to create our own ranch, brand and make everyday goods that were used at that time.

If you could have any animal’s home, whose would you choose?

The first two families to walk the trail will receive a copy of the book. Visit the office to receive your copy.

Geocache – 72 Hour Hunt

Date: Friday, November 1, 2024, through Sunday, November 3, 2024

Audience: Everyone

The park will have four (4) geocaches placed in the park for this 72-hour period. On November 4th, the caches will be picked up. This is a self-guided hike throughout the park.

November Storybook Walk will feature the book We Are Water Protectors, written by Carole Indstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade.

Water is the first medicine. It affects and connects us all.

When a black snake threatens to destroy the Earth and poison her people’s water, one young water protector takes a stand to defend Earth’s most sacred resource.

Once you have completed the story, go to the park office and receive your Water Protector Pledge.
