Fairfield’s KNES 99.1 is hosting the 10th Annual Snipe Hunt Nationals in Buffalo, Texas on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Originally set for last weekend, this event was changed due to storms and flood warnings.
Snipe hunting always creates fantastic memories and will be something you will remember for the rest of your life. The stories will be told for years and years.
More than 100 acres with perimeter fencing is available for the hunt.
Texas’ official Snipe Season is May 1st through July 31st. Nightly bag limit is two (2), and you can only hunt mature snipes.
Flashlights are permitted while hunting, but use of spotlights is prohibited.
You are NOT allowed to hunt snipes from a vehicle.
As always, fabric and paper bags only, no plastic bags.
Game Wardens will be enforcing these rules, no exceptions.
This is a catch and release hunt only! No guns allowed!!
Age groups are:
–7yrs to 11yrs (with professional hunting guide). No parents allowed!
–12yrs to 17yrs
–18yrs and up
Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd catches per age group.
Only registered hunters and guides will be allowed in the hunting areas.
Registration is $50 per hunter and includes an official t-shirt, burlap hunting sack, flashlight, BBQ dinner, and a Snipe Hunt safety course.
Spectators are $20 per person.
There will be live music during the hunt, a BBQ dinner, and lots of fun!
