Three mayors, nine council positions, and eight school board trustee places will be up for election on May 4, 2024 in Freestone County, Texas.

Fairfield ISD – 3 At-Large Trustee positions

Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees comprises 7 trustees who serve three-year terms. These terms are staggered so that 2 or 3 trustees are up for re-election each year during the month of May.

School Board Trustees are elected At-Large, and each trustee represents the entire Fairfield ISD community.

This year, Fairfield ISD will have two ballots for this election cycle.

One ballot will be for the 2 expiring terms (currently held by incumbent Michael Wren and Eric Chavers, appointed). These two positions will be for 3-year terms.

The other ballot will be for 1 unexpired term (currently held by Blake Robinson, appointed). This position will be for a 1-year term.

This situation resulted when two trustees resigned last year: Kirby Flandry, whose term was to expire in 2024, and OB Utley, whose term was not set to expire until 2025.

Eric Chavers and Blake Robinson were appointed to the vacant positions in late August of 2023.

At press time, 3 candidates have filed for the 2 expiring terms: Jeff Wright, Blake Robinson, and Eric Chavers. No candidates have filed to date for the unexpired term.
