It was a community affair at Fairfield’s annual Hometown Christmas on the Square this weekend.

This year’s favorite was the definitely the GLOW Foam (at top) that was almost as fun as snow!

Freestone County Retired Teachers gave out free books to any youth that wanted one.

Members of River of Life Family Worship Center performed the Nativity Drama. Pastors are Lissa and Robert Smith.

Attendees were given candy canes following a reading of the Christmas story.

Santa Claus took time to visit with children.

Kids got to see the nativity animals up close.

And, Fairfield Mayor Kenny Hughes performed the honors with the official lighting of the Christmas tree.

This year’s parade include several bike, trike, and wagon entries.

Winning 1st Place with The Grinch is Laney Lehman – Mini Miss Freestone County.

Taking 2nd Place with their float entry is M R Metal Works.

And, 3rd Place is Freestone Area Go Freestone County Go Texan.

“Thank you to all those that came out to enjoy this wonderful family event,” said the folks at Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. “We are blessed with so many wonderful volunteers that made this event successful.”

Please join Fairfield on Dec. 9 from 4 – 7 p.m. for Christmas at the Campsites at the fairgrounds and Dec. 16 from 1 – 4 p.m. for Jingle All the Way on the square.
