Dear Editor,

I would like to express my anger with the owners of the local radio station in Fairfield.

While I do understand the concept of ‘business,’ it is disheartening to hear those who typically tout “shop local/support local” play advertising for Todd Interests that continuously bashes the use of eminent domain where Fairfield Lake State Park is concerned.

I’m normally not “FOR” eminent domain, but I feel, in this particular case, it is called for. This new project coming to the area has already, and continues, to destroy a once beautiful habitat for creatures of all types (land, air, and water); and takes away from the citizens of Freestone County, State of Texas, and of the U.S., a place to relax, unwind and enjoy nature in way that is fast disappearing in our world today.

It appears that many people in the area are ONLY concerned about money lining their pockets and not about the well being of a community, be it locally, or the community of outdoorsmen/women.

It is a sad day when the almighty dollar is more important than the well being of the people, flora, and fauna of an area.

Thank you,

Dale Schaefer
