Nothing defines the gelding nature of the Biden administration better than the recent announcement of more than six Billion dollars to be given to the Iranian government to “assist in diplomatic relations” according to White House spokespeople. These Iranian funds were frozen earlier in response to Iranian anti-American behavior. The Islamic Republic of Iran is neither Islamic nor a republic; it is a totalitarian police state whose official motto is “Death to America” – a slogan displayed publicly all over Iran. Giving aid & comfort to the enemy is TREASON.
In 1797-98 the brand new United States were presented with the XYZ Affair whereby Messr. Tallyrand, the French Foreign Minister, demanded a huge bribe before seeing American diplomats. The American Ambassador, Charles Pinckney correctly replied, “Millions for defense; not one cent for tribute.”
In 1904 an American citizen, Hanford Pedicaris, was kidnapped by Ahmed Raisuli-led Morrocan bandits who demanded a huge ransom for his release. President Teddy Roosevelt sent warships and a large contingent of United States Marines with the message: “Pedicaris alive or Raisuli dead.” Pedicaris was released.
Fast forward: 1979 Tehran, Iran: Iran ordered the capture of the American embassy, and the entire staff was held hostage for 444 days. It was during Democrat Jimmy Carter’s administration. ONE DAY prior to Ronald Reagan’s 1981 swearing in ceremony, the hostages were released! Strength works; weakness encourages the enemy.
In 2016 then president Barak Obama sent $400 million in cash to Iran in exchange for four hostages’ release; shortly afterward another $1.3 Billion in cash was sent as part of the deal, the money to be spent “for humanitarian” uses. It went to fund war in Syria and kill Americans, which it did. Ransom paid to kidnappers proves that kidnapping Americans pays. Kidnappers are criminals, not honest governments.
Today Joe Biden has repeated Obama’s error by giving huge sums to our enemy; its stated purpose is to be for “non-military, humanitarian” uses. It will all be in cash. Our government knows that the money will not go to the Iranian people but to kill our friends and our citizens. As always, when confronted with a challenge, Biden folds and negotiates, and America loses. How long will this gelding insanity continue? I pray God not after November, 2024. We need strength in a leader, not a timid political hack.
