Kicking up the spotlight as the hot sun takes a break Friday evening, July 14, 2023 is Kate Watson (at top) and her band, who provided live entertainment the first night of Fairfield’s annual Peach Festival.
Attendees enjoyed a Cornhole tournament and late night shopping, followed by a full day of good food and fun on Saturday.
Vendors were out in full force, offering hand-crafted items to event goers.
Kids enjoy ice cream eating contests,
Water activities,
a dunking booth,
and an exotic petting zoo.
Early Saturday morning also include a Warrior 5K Run hosted by Faith Academy of Freestone. Among those earning Medals in the Warrior Run are (left-right): Mallorie Lane, Brianna Sitton, Seth Sanders, and Ian Sanders.
Additional medal runners were Debbie and Kisten DeFrance, and Jack Sanders.
Perhaps one of the most fun contests to watch was the cupcake eating contest hosted by Desserts by Mommacakes.
Owner Nicole Hughes did a bit of good-natured heckling to encourage contestants.
Fairfield Mayor Kenneth Hughes kept a close eye on proceedings to ensure there was no cheating.
And, the trophy goes to Josh “The Fireman” Lascano for leaving his competition in the dust!
Congrats to Marcus “Bring the Pepto” Recarte, winner Josh Lascano, Nicole Hushes, Colby “The Fireman” McCrory, and Josh “Ginger Snap” Ashley for another fun event.
And finally, congratulations to the newly crowned Little Miss Peach Haylee West (7-10 years) and Abigail Ferguson (3-6 years).
