Teague Police responded to a report of a female in a store requesting help. A Teague Police Officer and Freestone County Deputy were on scene trying to determine what the situation was and how they could help. The female, who was under the influence of at least alcohol, refused to cooperate with officers and further refused to leave the premises. She had previously been issued a criminal trespass warning for the property. Officers began to take the female into custody when she became combative, assaulting both officers. The female bit one officer on the arm and kicked both officers while resisting being arrested. Other area officers/deputies responded to assist at the scene. The female was, ultimately, taken into custody at the scene. She was transported to the Freestone County Jail where she was booked in for 2 Counts of Assaulting a Public Servant (3rd Degree Felony), Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Trespass (Class B Misdemeanor).
The arrested female did not require any medical treatment. The assaulted officers were treated for injuries received during this encounter and returned to duty.
The female suspect recently finished a 21 month sentence, which she received from Freestone County in 2022, for Driving While Intoxicated with 2 young children.

Teague Police Department received a searched warrant which was issued by the 87 Judicial District Court of Freestone County, for a residence in the 600 Block of MLK in Teague. The search warrant was issued based on credible information and specifically related to drugs and drug paraphernalia. Our agency and the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office worked together to plan and execute the search warrant.
Our agencies executed the search warrant and immediately detained two females and three males at the residence. One male has a Parole Violation Warrant, was arrested, and booked into the Freestone County Jail.
Officers/deputies searched the residence, pursuant the search warrant, and found marijuana, paraphernalia, and stolen credit cards (from a Teague Police Case we were already investigating).
There is still an ongoing investigation related with the search warrant and other criminal cases within Teague.
No officers or other individuals were injured during the execution of the search warrant.
This is a splendid example of the combined efforts of our agencies working together to combat criminal enterprises within Freestone County.
