Im-per-vi-ous: incapable of being penetrated, incapable of being affected: Sadly this is the case of many myopic ultra-liberals now; their minds seem immune to rational, logical thinking.
We are most fortunate in east Texas/rural America where we are mostly insulated from the bile that is daily spewed from the leftist media . We are blessed here with a school board and school superintendent whose mission is to graduate literate young people prepared for employment or for pursuing further education in college. “Progressive” ideology mandates that schools first produce well-rounded, socially balanced, happy graduates. The result is that big city [progressive] graduates are routinely sub-par in reading, science, and math compared with those graduated from Charter schools which focus of basic scholarship and maintaining standards.
Just as no man is an island, we cannot exist in an information vacuum. Any thinking person must be aware shifting social trends and passing fads like Critical Race Theory, the current “transgender” nonsense, foolish twisting of pronouns, “cancel culture” and even changes in curricula for physicians and attorneys in medical and law schools which now stress “social awareness” programs. This alarming trend is seen in business and industry as well: Budweiser and DisneyWorld are two clear examples.
Recent rebuttals of my efforts to defend American fundamental truths have been speciously answered in local newspapers by empty, rhetorical questions, the answers to which a high school freshman can see.
In some quarters, we are losing our identity as a civilization. We are confronted by a creeping ideology that disowns our genius, denounces our demonstrated success, disdains merit, elevates victimhood, embraces self-loathing – all tied together with exclusionary and authoritarian rules. The Left seeks to create a New Social Order for America based on its idea of virtue (see above) rather than on ability. It’s not for me, and I doubt it’s for you.
