On Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, Freestone Medical Center took time to celebrate two of its exemplary employees. The Hospital hosted a cake and punch reception where they announced and celebrated the Q4 2022 Employees of the Quarter (clinic and hospital)!

Employees of the Quarter (EOQ) are selected every three months and announced to celebrate their demonstrated actions and behaviors that best display the values of the organization: Integrity, Leadership, Stewardship and Teamwork. They are nominated by their peers and chosen by an employee committee to receive a commemorative plaque and gift certificate.

The Q4 2022 Clinic Employee of the Quarter is Mary “MJ” Guyton. Mrs. Guyton is a Medical Assistant at the Leon (Buffalo) health clinic location, and is described as being willing to take the heat for what is right rather than bowing down to pressure. Co-workers sing her praises as being willing to help others and a joy to work with. Married in 2019, MJ started her career with FMC that same year. Recognized as being compassionate, dependable and a joy to work with, MJ was described by John Yeary, CEO, as being the type of employee that impactful organizations are built on.

The Q4 2022 Hospital Employee of the Quarter is Kayla Hogue, and RN on the Med/Surg Inpatient unit of the hospital. A graduate of Mexia High School, Kayla has been an RN for 9 years and with the facility since 2020. Her coworkers think highly of her and offered that she is an advocate for her patients, and provides confident and efficient care. Her manager Aimee Posey, Med/Surg Director, remarked, “Kayla is an amazing nurse. She is the nurse co-workers go to when they need advice or a second set of eyes. She is an excellent critical thinker and she makes my job as a manager easy.”

Having earned EOQ status, Mrs. Guyton and Mrs. Hogue are now a part of a pool of 8 candidates who have been selected throughout the year to vie for the coveted distinction of being voted 2022 Employee of the Year! The Employee of the Year will be announced in April 2023.
