The community blood supply has dropped to critical levels, following severe winter weather last month.

Carter BloodCare is encouraging residents to donate blood in March to help Texas patients. Medical procedures for many patients are being delayed by two days or more until blood becomes available. When every second counts, donating blood makes a lifesaving difference for neighbors in need.

Local patients require transfusions due to vehicle accidents, organ transplants and open-heart surgeries, cancer treatments, difficulties during childbirth, anemia, and age-related health issues.

The need for blood is nonstop, but Texans can help by giving at Carter BloodCare’s community blood drive.
