Last Monday, the Fairfield Athletic Booster Club held Meet the Eagles in the Johnson Center gym to raise money for the upcoming year of sports.

“Already for this year we purchased an Electronic Timing System designed for speed and agility training to be used in girls and boys athletics. We purchased the new Guardian Helmet Caps for football and we also have purchased the Visors for the girls softball team. All of those things were purchased just this week.” Cody Roller, Athletic Booster Club President said. “Going forward we do not know yet what any of the other sports might need or want. The only other thing that we for sure know we will provide money for is the scholarships we award at the end of the year.”

Thanks to the auction and other sponsorship donations, the club ended up raising $11,500. The items for donation were two cakes donated by Lou Acuna, one cake donated by Kustom Kupcakes by Karen, one gift basket donated by the Cross Country Team, one signed basketball from last year’s Lady Eagles State Champion Team, one signed volleyball from this year’s team, two District Athletic Sports Pass, one Reserve Parking Spot at the football field, and one Reserve Parking Spot at the Johnson Activity Center. The money raised will go back towards the school’s athletic program.

“I expect our kids to compete hard each and get better every practice and game.” Head Coach John Bactel said. “We have great kids that really try and reach the expectations that the coaches set before them.”
