What a time we had on Friday night, last week! A good time was had by me and Tasha (my Beagle). Tasha went outside and after about 25 minutes she wanted back in. I walked to the door, opened it, and the first “thing” in was not Tasha. I was totally surprised! It flew in and flapped its wings, going up and down the wall. I grabbed a towel to try and hit it back outside. Tasha was jumping up and down trying to catch it. It was just too fast for either one of us.
After wearing ourselves out, Tasha and I were surprised when we could no longer see it. Then suddenly we heard it flapping its’ wings again. It was under the freezer. I grabbed a piece of cardboard and tried to bring it out by reaching it with the cardboard. No such luck. I shined a bright light under the freezer and saw it again. Its body was the color of golden yellow and the shape of a small cigar. It settled down and so did Tasha and I. I thought maybe it will come out when the lights are turned off. So, I put Tasha to bed and the one thing that bothered me about that was her bed is in the utility room. Surely this “thing” would not attack her. But to make sure I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. Then I worried about the thing getting out from under the freezer and the door to the utility room. It would then be in the rest of the house. I don’t normally worry about anything.
So, Saturday morning, I told The Colonel about this mysterious thing. I told him it was big and made a lot of noise with its wings. He said it was a Lunar Moth. I disagreed because I had seen a Lunar Moth and this thing didn’t look like the one I saw. Suddenly, the thing started flapping its’ wings again but this time it was under the refrigerator in the kitchen. The Colonel moved the refrigerator out, got a stick and pushed the “thing” out. It was a Lunar Moth, of course. Tasha and I were both glad we didn’t have to listen to the sound of the wings flapping. We were mostly relived that it was gone. But we were happy that we both got our exercise for the day.
