In the summer a little fun is necessary to take the heat off your shoulders.

Thankfully the 2022 Fuzzy Peach Festival did just that from free peach ice cream to the wonderful shops around the festival offering sweet peach refreshments to their customers.

There was fun for kids and adults of all ages with some amazing live music and many fun activities.

Friday started with the fun and games for adults with the cornhole hole tournaments planned for the night from the Freestone County Go Texan Scholarship Committee.

The games were accompanied by the musical talents of The Fog.

The Little Miss Peach started off Saturday day morning with adorable little contestants.

The kids were then able to go have fun with facing painting, a slip & slide, and a exotioc petting zoo that had a kangaroo.

Even the adults had fun with both the Chamber of Commerce and Dessert by Mommacakes who had a hand at it with eating competitions for guests to participate and enjoy.

Saturday’s activities were accompanied by American Idol Contestant Kate Watson.

The stores that participated this year were Pack N Mail, Tallulah Rey, Kountry Klutter, Hope & Co, Southern Bound, Accessories ETC, Brenda’s Closet, Dessert by MommaCakes, Kennedy’s Korner, Fairfield Western Wear, Armadillo Emporium, and Junkin Gypsie Boutique Trailer.

On top of all the store fronts by the square many businesses came out and set up booths to sell from.

The booths had wonderful things like the peach booth where you could buy fresh peaches to fundraisers like the 50/50 raffle the class of 2023 held for Project Graduation.

This year was a blast for those who came, so keep a look out for next year’s date.

Peach Cookery Contest

Earning Best of Show in this year’s Peach Cookery Contest is Lannette Burns.
Best of Show in the Youth Division was Alex Downing (not pictured) for her Cake entry.
The contest was judged by members of Fairfield History Club.

Cupcake Eating Contest

Getting heckled by Contest Organizer, Nicole Hughes, appears to throw off “Daring Dave” Treece’s Cupcake Eating form.

One observer gasps in disbelief while watching Wesley “Crazy Old Man” Daniel eat his plate of sweet treats.

Slow and steady was the strategy of Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley.

The ultimate winner was “Joey Cheesecake” Thill (left) who’s mouth stuffing abilities amazed even Melissa “The Mouth” Nicholson, who received the most votes for the People’s Choice award.
