Our local Freestone County Retired Teachers Association is beginning its new year soon.

Whether you are a TRS Annuitant or someone who supports public education, please join our organization. We need as many members as possible to show Austin we are serious about their supporting retirees, active school employees, and the young people in our public schools
today.

On Wednesday, June 1st from 10-1:00 our FCRTA leaders will be holding a Drive-thru Membership and Children’s Book Collection Event on the West side of the Brookshire Brothers Parking lot. Look for our Freestone County RTA Sign displayed and our Members in PURPLE shirts. We want to see you!

You do not have to get out of your car, drive by and drop off.

We encourage our renewing members who haven’t sent in their dues to drop by to pay your dues and drop off any new or lightly used children’s books for this year’s TRTA’s Children’s Book Project Give-Away which is a highlight of our year. TRTA asks all members to donate 10 books or $10.00 each year to support our BOOK Give-Away.

Local and State Dues are only $45.00 for a year membership.

There will be a surprise for one lucky person that comes by and joins or renews on Wednesday, June 1st during our event.

In addition, all members that have paid their dues in full by Wednesday, June 6, 2022 will be entered into a drawing for one of 3 envelopes containing $30.00. This drawing will be held at the last FCRTA meeting in June. More information will be coming soon.

We are asking for any community member who has new or slightly used children’s books of any reading level to drop by and donate.

Our local leaders will be there to visit with anyone of the community who loves a school employee or a student. TRTA welcomes everyone who cares about public schools, including active school employees to join us by paying $45.00 dues for a year’s membership. It is a bargain
and TRTA is the only organization that is lobbying for public school retirees to improve their benefits.
