In the early morning hours of 4/22/2022 Officer Scarrow was out on patrol on County Road 606 which is inside the city limits of Fairfield. Officer Scarrow observed a tan SUV vehicle slow to a stop in the middle of the road. Officer Scarrow maintained a distance and observed a male subject exit the vehicle and discard something in the ditch of the road next to his vehicle.

As Officer Scarrow closed the distance in his patrol vehicle, he was able to observe the male subject walk towards him. Officer Scarrow made contact with the male and was advised he ran out of gas. The male requested help from Officer Scarrow. At this time a female subject exited the vehicle as well.

After making contact with both subjects Sgt. Markham arrived on scene to assist Officer Scarrow. Officer Scarrow located the item that the subject had discarded in the ditch. Officer Scarrow picked up the bag and observed a large amount of Methamphetamines, and a small amount of Marijuana. Along with the illegal substances, other items included brass knuckles, a scale (which is used to weigh narcotics)and other paraphernalia used for inhalation of illegal substances. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

While conducting inventory of the vehicle the subjects were in, Officer Scarrow located a small amount of Methamphetamines in the purse that belonged to the female subject. In addition to the drug charges the male subject showed to have an active felony warrant for a Parole Violation out of Freestone County.

The male subject was transported to the Freestone County Jail where he was booked on the charges of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 greater than 4g less than 200 grams, Possession of Marijuana less 2 ounces, Parole Violation warrant.

The female was transported to the jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance less than 1 gram.

We would like thank Officer Scarrow for doing a great job observing and making contact with the vehicle. We would also like to thank our newly appointed Sgt. Harold Markham for doing a great job assisting Officer Scarrow. The Fairfield Police Department is proud and thankful for the hard work.
