Jack Hines Campbell, 96, of Fairfield, TX passed away on December 22, 2021. He was born January 1, 1925, in Covington, Texas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Hines Campbell and Ibby Lee Gathings Campbell and his two siblings Mary-Hollis Campbell and Caroline Campbell Roper. Jack is survived by Helen Willard Campbell, his loyal wife, of 73 years of Fairfield, TX. He is also survived by daughter Theresa Campbell Vett of Fairfield, TX and son Joe Hines Campbell and wife Karen of Arlington, TX. His grandchildren are Kelly Vett Grant, Holly Vett Henderson, JC Vett, Celeste Campbell Powell, Hunter Campbell, Connor Campbell, sister-in-law Ann Willard Milligan, and brother-in-law David Willard, has five (5) great-grandchildren, and a great many nieces, and nephews.
Jack entered the navy at 17 1/2 years old, after graduating from high school and proudly served in WWII. He retired as Chief Petty Officer after twenty (20) years in the Navy. After retiring, he sold real estate and started working at Bell Helicopter for several years in quality control and started his own company –Campbell Real Estate Company in Arlington, Tx. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Grand Prairie, TX for over 50 years. He retired to Fairfield, Tx with his wife Helen where he became an avid gardener. Jack and Helen loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing cards together. He loved to play golf. Jack was loved by his family and friends, was a great role model, and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Fairfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery.
