Drawing for a place on the ballot of the upcoming Republican Primary Election will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the office of Freestone County Republican Chair, Doug Sanford, DVM. The Fairfield Veterinary Hospital is located at 1501 Hwy 84 West.
Candidates are welcome, but not required to attend.
“The procedure is quick and simple,” said Dr. Sanford. “Names are placed in a bowl and someone draws them out. Each race is drawn separately.”
Final list of Republican candidates for offices at the County level include the following:
–County Judge: Linda Grant (incumbent)
–District Clerk: Teresa Black (incumbent)
–County Clerk: Renee Gregory Reynolds (incumbent – appointed)
–County Treasurer: Jeannie Keeney (incumbent) and Tammy Harris
–County Commissioner – Pct. 2: Will McSwane
–County Commissioner – Pct. 4: Clyde Ridge (incumbent), Adam Minze, and John T. Massey
–Justice of the Peace – Pct. 1: Theresa Farris (incumbent)
–Justice of the Peace – Pct. 2: Kasey Pickett Allen, Kristina Capp Flannery, Jim Lawrence, and Tammy Ramsey
–Justice of the Peace – Pct. 3: Cinnamon Archibald (incumbent)
–Justice of the Peace – Pct. 4: Lisa Hendrix (incumbent – appointed)
No Democratic candidates have been reported for County level office in Freestone County, Texas.
Also appearing on the ballot this cycle will be the office of 87th District Judge.
Three Republican candidates are vying for this position: Stanley Sokolowski of Palestine, Brian Walsh of Palestine, and Amy Ward of Mexia.
Current District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans announced earlier in the year that she would not seek office. She will conclude her duties on December 31, 2022.
The Primary Elections will be held on March 1, 2022.
Early Voting begins February 14, 2022.
