Doris Earl Vaclavik, 90, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Fairfield. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Pastor Sid Lott, Jr. officiating. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Derek Scott, Hayden Hill, Justin Farrell, Daniel Brown, Justin Zwierzchowski and John Day.
Doris was born August 1, 1931 in Fairfield to parents Chester Earl and Ruby Scruggs Willard. She married Joseph Raymond Vaclavik on April 30, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2005. Doris was a lifetime area resident. She and her husband were former members of First Baptist Church. Doris worked for Monte Cole at Cousins and later the First Stop. She owned and operated the Courthouse Cafe in the 80’s and also Joe’s BBQ. She was also an operator at Con-Tel Phone Co. Doris loved her family, her grandchildren, the Dallas Cowboys, John Wayne and her cats. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother James Willard and a granddaughter Melissa Tate of Quanah, TX.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Doris Finley and husband Dan of Quanah, TX; Theresa May and husband Paul of Fairfield; Joe Vaclavik and wife Julie of Fairfield; grandchildren, Stephanie Minze, Donna Day and husband John, Derek Scott, Riley Vaclavik and fiancé Hayden Hill all of Fairfield; Charlsie Brown and husband Daniel of Vernon, TX; Jennifer Scott of Tyler, TX; great-grandchildren, Chassey Petty, Jacob Day and wife Jenna, Justin Zwierzchowski all of Fairfield, Tiffany Clary and husband Clifton of Gatesville, TX, Joshua Bartley of Quanah, TX, Tyler Scott of Lott, TX, Alyssa Riley and Ayden Garza of Vernon, TX; great-great-grandchildren, Rustyn Taylor, Alaina Baker, Tripp Petty, Kelbeigh Day, Riley Zwierzchowski all of Fairfield, Cullen, Sage and Sterling Clary of Gatesville, TX, Kooper and Joshua Bartley of Quanah, TX.
