The ‘Fiddler from Fairfield’ returned to Freestone County on Sunday for a Hometown Celebration.  Mallory Fuller, the reigning Miss Texas, was the guest of honor.

The event served as a way for family, friends, and community members to spend some valuable time with this local celebrity.  The room was full of loved ones, including many teachers that once had the pleasure of having Mallory in their classroom.  It was apparent that everyone there knew and loved this young woman, a feeling that only increased as others spoke about her and her many accomplishments.

There was a display that chronicled her road to the crown, having been a part of the Miss Texas organization for many years.

Display of accomplishments on the journey to being Miss Texas.

Mallory began serving as a Lone Star Princess before she won her first title and competed in both the Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant and the Miss Texas Pageant.

She has now been traveling this great state to make appearances at many public events.

Next on her list of goals is to represent the Lone Star State at the Miss America Pageant in Connecticut December 12-16, 2021.

Mallory is a 2016 graduate of Fairfield High School, a 2020 graduate of Texas A & M University, and a current student at Baylor University.

She is seeking a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with plans to be a Speech Pathologist.

Ms. Fuller has been vocal and grateful for the scholarship opportunities she has earned through both the Miss America and Miss Texas programs.

She is the youngest daughter of Mike and Jina Fuller, previously of Fairfield.

Her two older sisters, as well as her mother, have all competed in the Miss Texas Pageant.

In fact, her sister Madison was Miss Texas in 2018 and Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen in 2010.

The sisters set a record when Mallory was crowned, being the only sisters to have held the title within the organization’s history.

Competing for the title and meeting the demands of the role require much than a pretty face.  Contestants train for each aspect of the contest, including interview and speaking skills, presentation or modeling, knowledge of current events, and talent performance.

Mallory began playing the fiddle at the age of 6 and has mastered the instrument and entertaining the crowd with upbeat songs such as, “Orange Blossom Special.”  She has a unique way of connecting with the audience and judges while playing and has a cheerful aspect to her personality and presentation.

While traveling as the reigning title-holder, she has played for crowds and continued to hone her talent.

Also in her role, she promotes community service projects and advocates for a platform.

Ms. Fuller’s social impact initiative and main focus is Mallory’s Mission: Suicide Prevention.

Having experienced the loss of a friend to suicide at an early age and later testifying to state law-makers in support of additional suicide prevention training in schools, Mallory feels personally motivated to normalize conversations about suicide and education.

She truly believes in the power of prevention and has written and published a children’s book in an attempt to reach younger age groups concerning mental health.  This heart-warming tale is titled Henry’s Happy Heart and will soon be followed by her second release.

The recent hometown celebration was only a small representation of the love and respect that the community has for this amazing young woman.

Freestone County Judge Linda Grant introduces the guest of honor.

Introductions by Freestone County Judge Linda Grant, Fairfield Mayor Kenny Hughes, family members, and fellow and younger pageant-goers all depicted Mallory’s selfless heart and dedicated discipline.

Fairfield Mayor Kenny Hughes speaks highly of Ms. Fuller.
