The Hummingbirds are back in full swing! They are migrating to the south I guess and once again it is fill up all the feeders, make more sugar water for them and fill up all the feeders. They fight with each other so much that it is hard to believe that they can gain any weight for their flight back to the south. They are so much fun to watch as they fly from here to there and back again.
The Colonel was upset with them last week because he was sitting on the porch, and they kept flying around him. He said he couldn’t even look at the lake because they were in the way. One even came up to him and looked him over he said. I guess I am going to have to move the feeders next year so we can still sit out on the porch and enjoy the scenery although the birds don’t bother me.
I got a kick out of the ones that keep coming up to the artificial flowers I have on the porch. Some of them come up to those flowers and try to find something to eat. I also have real flowers out there and they by-pass them for whatever reason. It has been good to see about 20-25 at a time flying around. The Red Oak Ranch is a “sweet” place to hang out at.
