The Teague Lions committed four turnovers and gave up 35 points at home in a 35-0 defeat to the Madisonville Mustangs at Lion Stadium on Friday night. The Lions are searching for their first win of the season, as well as their first points scored.

Teague has been outscored 111-0 in the first three games of the season with home losses to Mart and Madisonville and a road loss in Lago Vista. Teague mustered 71 yards of total offense as they battle depth and potential illness that is so visible in our world today.

The Mustangs hit the big play early with an 81-yard touchdown run by Jerimiah Burns to get the scoring started at 7-0

Xavier Whaley and Burns had long runs from an offense that passed for a minus five yards and ran for 11 yards a carry. Blessing Ngene and Whaley had first half touchdowns to build the lead and Jamarcus Holland added a 28-yard touchdown run to finish off the scoring on the night.

The Mustang defense proved to be stingy ending a couple of Lion threats with long interception returns.

The Teague Lions return home to face Leon County rival Buffalo at Lion Stadium on Friday night. The Bison (1-2) led 42-31 in the middle of the third quarter and gave up 28 consecutive points and lost to Crockett 59-42 at home on Friday.
