Since February, the fulltime news staff at The ‘Times’ slimmed down considerably, and we began relying much more on our freelancers, interns and volunteer contributors.
I would like to say how grateful we are to everyone in the community who has contributed photographs and news content over the last four months.
My office manager and I could not do this without you! You put the “community” in community newspapers.
As we celebrated Independence Day weekend, I thought about how blessed I am to have the responsibility of bringing the hometown news each week to the small towns of Freestone County, Texas.
We live in one of the best places in the world, where neighbors are quick to lend a hand when a need arises.
Going into our twentieth year in the community news business, I can tell you that, while we do get our fair share of bad news, there is so much good in the people of this county. And, I am grateful.
Grateful to live and work with people who care, and people who strive to be the very best.
