Billy Bass Daniel, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Isle at Watercrest in Bryan, Texas at the age of 79. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 11 at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, with John Wainwright, Jr. officiating. The visitation will precede the service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 11 in the Gathering Place at First Baptist Church, Fairfield. In keeping with his ministry of helping others, he chose to donate his body to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for the advancement of science, therefore there will be no burial.

Bill was born October 7, 1941 in Corsicana, Texas to parents William F. (Billie) and Otie B. Bass Daniel. He grew up in Fairfield where he graduated Fairfield High School. In January 1965, he graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. His first pharmacist job was in Dallas where he met and married his sweetheart, Judy Ann Hibbs in 1965. They returned to Fairfield where Bill worked with Town Drug and Awalt Drug before achieving his childhood dream of opening his own business, Bill’s Pharmacy, in Fairfield in 1972.

Bill loved his Savior Jesus Christ and lived to serve and glorify the Lord.  He was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield where he ministered in several capacities. He served as a deacon, was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and was actively involved in choir. His leadership and organizational skills were a help to all as he served on multiple committees and provided guidance in many areas. His passion was in missions, having helped initiate and travel on mission trips to unreached people in the United States, some foreign countries, and everywhere he lived. He also assisted many people through his service on the Fairfield Area Ministerial Alliance. His hobbies included anything computer-related, Boston Terriers, and having coffee with the guys.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2017; his parents Billie and Otie Daniel, and parents-in-law, Albert and Dorothy Hibbs.

Left to cherish his memories are son, David Daniel and wife, Kim of College Station, Texas, daughter, Deanne Miller and husband, Boyd of Kemp, Texas, grandchildren Rachel Miller of Tyler, Texas, Bo Miller of Houston, Texas, Jacob Daniel and Lindsey Daniel, both of College Station, Texas; sister, Martha Darr and husband, Richard of Tyler, Texas; and many other family members and friends, and his beloved dog, Buddy.

The family wishes to thank his special caregivers, Jasmine and Treyva from Allumine Hospice, as well as KeKe, James, and all the staff at the Isle of Watercrest.
