The Texas Department of Health and Humans Services has updated their COVID-19 app, visit dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/ and click Case Count to view to information.

Always remember that the numbers are what were reported from the state, and there are many factors included in counting numbers.

The website states that, “All data are provisional and subject to change.”

Also, make sure and pay attention to the tab.  If you check there are a variety of tabs on the website ranging from positive cases in total, recoveries, deaths, actives cases, and much more information.

The following are the counts for positive test received in regards to COVID-19 testing in the five-county region.

As a note, the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 dashboard is considered to be,

“provisional and subject to change.”

Always follow the numbers officials report.

Numbers shown below are the current ACTIVE cases only.

–Freestone County – 9

–Navarro County – 135

–Limestone County – 57

–Leon County – 35

–Anderson County – 44

The inmate unit list has been shortened to only include the prisons in Freestone County and surrounding counties.

Current numbers of confirmed active case inmates in the State of Texas as of Friday, February 5, 2021 are as follows:

–Beto -9 inmate and 8 employee

–Boyd – 0 inmates and 7 employees

–Coffield – 1 inmates and 5 employees

–Michael – 0 inmates and 0 employees

–Powledge – 1 inmates and 2 employees

 

Texas is currently allowing vaccinations for the following statuses:

–Phase 1a:  Front-line healthcare workers and residents at long-term care facilities

–Phase 1b: People 65+ or people 16+ with a health condition that increases risk of severe COVID‑19 illness including but not limited to: Cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, Down Syndrome, Heart Conditions, Organ transplantation, Obesity, Pregnancy, Sickle Cell Disease, Type 2 Diabetes

–ALL school and childcare personnel

–Phase 1c: People 50-64 years of age
