Some Fairfield residents may be entertaining important visitors later this week, or early next week.

Surveyors from GrantWorks will be in Fairfield collecting surveys at randomly selected homes.

The surveys are part of the City of Fairfield’s efforts to secure grant funding for water system improvements and community development.

“We need residents to answer these surveys,” said City Administrator Nate Smith. The information is needed for a CDBG Community Development Block Grant through the Texas Department of Agriculture.

“It is important because we are trying to secure grant funding for rehabilitating one of our water towers,” Smith continued. “As everyone experienced two weeks ago, it is important for our water system to have good equipment and this grant will allow us to accomplish this.”

Any responses to the surveys will be confidential, and data gathered will only be used in applying for the grant.

According to a letter sent to residents, Names of the surveyors are: Garrett Hines, Will Hernandez, and Kirk Dibbens. They represent GrantWorks, Inc. and the City of Fairfield.

Residents are encouraged to ask for formal indentification.
