We are pleased to announce that the Fairfield Library Association Board of Directors has met and agreed to re-open the Mary Moody Northen Library on February 2, 2021. We are very grateful for the understanding of our patrons and guests as we have negotiated both the knowns and unknowns of the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be limitations, of course, as follows in our Public Statement:
Reopening Doors February 2, 2021 – Public Statement
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Fairfield Library will reopen its doors to the public with limitations.
Limitations – Rules will be strictly enforced
–Seniors only from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Tuesday – Friday
–General Public open hours are from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday – Friday
–One hour per day time limit for all visitors in the library.
–Masks or Face Shields are required to enter, except for children 10 and under.
–Children without masks should social distance with non-family members.
–Anyone not wearing a mask or face shield will be asked to use the drive-thru option.
–Enter through the front door, and exit through the side door only.
–Everyone will sign in at the front desk upon entering.
–Do not re-shelve books after handling – place them on the nearest cart for staging and cleaning.
–A maximum of 20 library guests in the main area at any given time, and 10 max in the community room.
The book-drop will remain open 24/7 and its usage is highly encouraged. The Fairfield Library Board of Directors will continue to monitor COVID-19 developments and adjust as needed. The safety and health of our patrons and staff is of our utmost concern.
