Graveside services for Shari Lynn James, 80, will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Bro. Paul Heuermann will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague before leaving in procession to the cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
Ms. James passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Fairview Healthcare Residence in Fairfield.
Shari Lynn James was born on June 21, 1940 in Teague to parents, George Holton & Vivian Childs James. She lived in Teague all of her life except for the last six years when she resided in Fairview Healthcare Residence. Shari graduated from Teague High School Class of 1958 and then attended Durham Business School. Shari worked for the City Drug Store in Teague for several years and later worked as the secretary of the Mexia Sewing Factory in Mexia until she retired. Shari enjoyed sewing, playing cards, dominoes, traveling with her late husband, Johnny Davis, visiting with family, and taking care of her beloved cats. She was a devoted and loving daughter to her mother, taking care of her for many years until her mother’s passing. Shari loved spending time with her family and loved taking trips with her sisters, and all of her nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague and later attended Freestone Baptist Church, which she loved very much.
Shari is survived by three sisters, Genelle James Cannon of Fairfield, Glenda James Smith of Lumberton, and Kathleen James Garber of Houston; one sister-in-law, Susan James of Fairfield; eleven nieces and nephews, Kenneth Mullen, Terry Mullen, Todd Mullen, Lynn Cannon Lancaster, Doyle Cannon, Mike James, David James, Mike Smith, Darren Smith, Trent Smith, and Leigh Schuster Tomaski; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin and Kale Mullen, Tasha Soileau, Abbie Soileau, Chad and Cody Lancaster, Ashley Cannon Hardt, Tad Cannon, Hannah Smith Stephens, Alivia Smith, Emma Smith, Brailey Smith, Chloe Smith, Morgan Smith, London Smith, Lilly and Bitsy James, Holton James, Zachary and Abigail Tomaski.
Ms. James was preceded in death by her father, George Holton James; her mother, Vivian Childs James; one sister, Louise James Mullen; two brothers, David F. James and Thomas Holton James.
