‘On the Line with AgriLife’ to cover fence law, easements, landowner liability

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will address landowner liability and laws during a free On the Line with AgriLife webinar at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 10.

Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist in Amarillo, will be the featured speaker for this session, “The 2020 Ag Law Year in Review/Looking Forward to 2021.”

It will be held on the Zoom meeting platform. Participants may also call in to 346-248-7799 and enter meeting ID: 936 5015 8712.

“The goal of this ‘On the Line’ is to provide current information and highlight the most up-to-date laws and information in a quick call-in or Zoom program format that is easy for everyone to participate in,” said Emily Grant, AgriLife Extension agent for Val Verde County. “This webinar should be considered a can’t-miss for Texas landowners and row-crop producers.”

Grant said Lashmet would speak for about 30 minutes and then take questions from the audience.

Lashmet is one of AgriLife Extension’s most sought-after speakers, and her “Owning Your Piece of Texas” program has earned her national recognition as has her blog, Grant said.

Those who can’t join the webinar or who want to watch past webinar recordings may do so on the On the Line YouTube channel.

Webinars are held each month and feature various AgriLife Extension agents and specialists discussing topics important to West Texas stakeholders, although Texans statewide are encouraged to join in.

AgriLife Extension agents Grant; Sami Lindsey, Crane County; Payton Keifer, Pecos County; Cody Trimble, Glasscock County; Tanner Hash, Martin County; Dakota Kempken, Glasscock County; Jessica McCrory, Terrell County; and Matlin Sain, Presidio County, organized the series.

Additional information on the series may be found on the AgriLife Extension, Far West Texas District 6 Facebook page. Videos of past topics and a schedule of upcoming topics are also available online. To get text reminders about programs, send @OTLWA to 81010.
