An abundance of Christmas music will be offered by both children and adults at three events scheduled this month at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield.
The children’s choir at Calvary will take to the stage this coming Sunday, December 6th at 10:45 am during the morning worship service. Children from kindergarten through 6th grade will perform ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’, ‘Joy To The World’ and ‘I Can Only Imagine’.
On Sunday night, December 20th beginning at 6:30 pm, citizens of Fairfield and surrounding communities are invited to participate in a Christmas special that will allow participants to sing their favorite Christmas songs. Those who participate are encouraged to bring their music on CD or have someone with them who can play their selection on either the piano or keyboard.
Sunday morning at 10:30 am on December 20th, Calvary’s adult choir will be performing numerous Christmas songs. Being performed will be ‘Christmas Bells Medley’ (which will include ‘Ring O’er the Earth’, ‘I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day’ and ‘Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne’), ‘Beautiful Star of Bethlehem’, ‘Look Who Just Checked In’, ‘A Baby Changes Everything’, ‘Precious Jesus, Precious Savior’, ‘O Come Little Children’, ‘We Fall Down’ and ‘Is There Room’.
Shelby Race, Music and Education Minister at Calvary, stated “With all of the challenges that we have dealt with during 2020, we still managed to find time to put together these musical programs not only for our church family, but for the community of Fairfield and surrounding area. We look forward to this wonderful time of year when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior by worshiping Him with music and song. We would love to see our sanctuary filled with people to watch our choirs perform but also to see the many talented individuals in our area take the stage and sing their favorite Christmas carols.
