A few individuals had sent in their early ballots, very early, which is normally great, but it is 2020, the year of COVID-19.
The Freestone County Commissioners Court met on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 to discuss how to best handle ballots that were sent in before the election dates had been postponed to Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
These ninety-nine ballots came from Fairfield ISD and Fairfield Hospital District, and are being kept safe inside a ballot box until Election Day.
Well kept records allowed these ballots to remain sealed.
A corrected ballot has been mailed out, so keep a close eye on your mail.
When a corrected ballot is received it will be used instead of the original ballot. If a corrected ballot is not received then the original ballot will be used.
