A big Thank You goes to the Bi-Stone Health Alliance for the Appreciation Parade for health care workers they held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Fairfield, Texas and Teague, Texas.
Everyone gathered near Brookshire Brothers in Fairfield, Texas to decorate their vehicles and wait for the Freestone County Sheriff Officer to escort the parade.
Buzz Russell with KNES 99.1 even played a special requested list of music so everyone could play their music together as they tossed out candy, pens and honked their horns to say thank you.
The parade path was the Freestone Medical Center Hospital and Clinic, followed by the EMS building, Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation, the Freestone County Courthouse, Fairview Nursing Home, Teague Nursing and Rehabilitation, and finally the Fairview Clinic.
I had the wonderful pleasure of joining in the parade, and seeing how amazingly resilient the residents of Freestone County really are.
The faces smiling and the joy people showed when they saw the parade and waved at everyone, was a testament to how strong people really are, even in the medical community that are the most at risk.
Cars would stop to make sure we could get through, and from our perspective in the back of the parade, you could see how some people’s faces lit up just watching the parade go by.
Andrea Lopez, Regional Marketing Coordinator with Teague Nursing & Rehabilitation, said, “We all wanted to not only show appreciation but spread some joy in these uncharted times.”
Joy was certainly spread, and appreciation was made known, thanks to the amazing people in the Bi-Stone Health Alliance.
