Spring is bass fishing time in Texas!
4-H youth from Freestone County dusted off their rods and reels to participate in the statewide 4-H Virtual Bass Tournament held in March during three separate Saturday events. 248 youth in grades 3rd through 12th participated state-wide with the opportunity to win fishing prizes and 4-H awards, along with the coveted title of Big Bass winner for hooking the largest fish.
Placings were determined based upon cumulative pounds of bass weights over the three events, and 4-H’ers were able to participate in the tournament as an individual, on a 3 to 4-member team and in a separate Big Bass contest.
