From Mayor Kenneth Hughes (posted March 17, 202):

My fellow residents, the City of Fairfield is continuing to monitor and prepare in this time of national and state emergency because of the Coronavirus. We are taking steps to mitigate its impact in this city through the following steps.

The revised state guidelines to mitigate COVID-19 has advised the postponement and cancellation of events and groups of 50 or more people (updated Friday, March 20th to 10 people).

Therefore, in order to contain the spread of the Coronavirus during this pandemic, Fairfield Fest and Market Days has been postponed and the upcoming Easter Eggstravaganza has been canceled.

In addition, events that were scheduled to use the city’s Green Barn civic center have been canceled. The individual event organizers can make decisions on whether to postpone or cancel their events.

It is of my utmost importance to ensure resident safety. We have online and telephone billing options available if you do not want to get outside. We will also take drive-up payments at the city’s new Administrative office at 425 W. Commerce St. by parking in the parking lot and alerting us you are here by calling 903-389-2633 or by honking your horn. The city also has drop boxes for payment available at 425 W. Commerce Street or the police station at 839 E. Commerce Street.

If you need assistance in any form, please call City Hall at 903-389-2633 and we will help you as much as possible. We will keep you updated with further information.

We are a strong community and we are here to help. I am asking for your continued prayers and support for our city, state, and nation during these trying times.
Thank you.
