Janice Sue (Jan) Allen, 63, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Fairfield. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Skinner officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elmo Cemetery in the Winkler Community.
Jan was born June 3, 1956 in Beaumont, Texas at Beaumont Baptist Hospital to parents Plumber Jefferson (P.J.) Cryer and Bessie Marie Cowart Cryer. She was raised in Baytown and at sixteen married her husband Tony. She then joined him in Grafenwoehr, Germany where she would later receive her high school diploma. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Blanch Allen; a sister-in-law, Tonja Vaughn and two brothers-in-law, Glenn Hamilton and Robert Sellers.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 48 years, Tony; four children, Greg Allen and wife Shelly of Hillsboro; Bessie Lamb of Fairfield; Quincy Allen and husband Clayton Aldrich; Kalop Allen and wife Crystal Wettermark; grandchildren, Turner, Jackson and Aydon Allen; Brianna and Evan Lamb; Kaylee, Nicole (Nikki) and Michael (Mikey) Pickering; Lily Allen; Shannon Heinen, Lisa Aldrich Guidry and Makenzie Aldrich; a brother, Larry Cryer and wife Deanna; two sisters, Judy Sanders and Joyce Sellers; and of utmost importance, four fur babies, Teddy, Cinch, Tigger and Molly; also a very supporting, appreciated, and loved Calvary Baptist Church body. More friends than we could name and “kids” of every age range that she influenced.
