The Freestone County Democrats Forum will hold its monthly meeting on February 20th at Sam’s Restaurant. All Democrats, Independents, and curious are invited to attend The evening will start with a meet-and-greet at 5:00 pm. We will eat at 5:30 with individuals choosing their own meal. The meeting of the Forum will begin at 6:00 pm. We will be discussing the upcoming election and hear a report on the efforts to allow High School students to work in the election. There will also be a discussion on efforts to form a Young Democrats Club in Fairfield.
The Forum’s purpose is to support the principles and ideals of the Democratic Party. In Freestone County, the Forum is working to give Democrats a voice in city and county government.
At the February meeting, David Anthony Jaramillo, candidate for Texas’ 17th Congressional District, will be present to meet the residents of Fairfield from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. In his bid for Congress, David has been endorsed by the-AFL-CIO of Texas, the Austin Stonewall Democrats, Austin Area Central Labor Council, Central Austin Progressive Democrats, the Mutualista Hall of Waco, and Texas Democrats with Disabilities. He is working for change and improvements in the Veterans Affairs programs, in medical and health care, and prison reform. After the Forum’s meeting, there will be a 15-minute orientation for the Forum and the Freestone County Democratic Party for all interested visitors.
