This workshop will focus specifically on legal issues related to grazing, hunting, and livestock leases. This will be a half day seminar. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, interact with attorneys and economists, and discuss issues such as payment structures, average lease rates, key terms to include in leases, and methods to protect against liability for injuries.

To date, AgriLife has held 19 Ranchers Leasing Workshop programs and had over 1,200 attendees, 100% of whom would recommend the workshops to a friend. In total, over 1.357 million acres have been represented at these workshops. These programs offer practical, real-world advice that attendees can take home and put into action to help strengthen their lease agreements and protect their operations. Topics covered include why written leases are important, legal considerations regarding lease agreements, structuring lease rates, how much is the lease land worth, economic decision aid tools, key terms to include in a grazing, hunting, and livestock lease, and landowner liability protections.
