Mattie Fay Simons, 86 of Fairfield passed away December 19, 2019.
She was born October 2, 1933 in Whitehouse, Texas to Chester Bryant and Mellie Hall Bryant.
She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren, raised seven kids. She took great pride in taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Simons and daughter, Judy Gail Kear.
She is survived by her children, Roy Simons and wife Rose, Roger Simons, Arthur Simons and wife Lou, Cindy Simons, Vera Simons and Mary Dickson and husband John; special nephew Billy Cockrell along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and extended family members.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 21st from 4-6pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Fairfield.
Graveside funeral will be 3:00pm Sunday, December 22nd at Dew Cemetery with Bro Carl Clark officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Dickson, Jason Kear and Larry Kear.
