Richard Reeves allegedly assaulted an unnamed Deputy and two other victims on the outside of Fairfield, and he was subsequently arrested last Sunday, December 15th, 2019.
Freestone County Sheriff’s Office responded a little before 6:00 p.m. to a residence in regards to an assault with two victims that had taken place according to the press release.
As per the report, the Deputy spoke to the victims, then approached Reeves outside at a different residence on the same property. He reportedly grew confrontational while being questioned, and then assaulted the Deputy physically.
Once the Deputy had separated themselves from Reeves, they threatened to use their taser making him calm down, according to the press release.
According to the report, the Deputy had Reeves placed under arrest before multiple deputies arrived at the scene ready to assist.
He was booked into Freestone County Jail for two charges of assault causes bodily injury family violence, and one charge of assault public servant.
DPS also responded in order to assist as needed.
Sheriff Shipley reminded everyone in the press release that, “In law enforcement you never know when or what’s going to happen. You got to stay prepared and ready. Our Deputy went home safe tonight, and that’s what matters.”
