Melinda Macke passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. She was born to Norman and Juanita Long in Des Moines, Iowa on December 30, 1961. Upon graduation from high school, she studied and earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising at Bauder Fashion College. She spent many of her days looking after children and home schooling. For many years she worked at ETMC as an ER clerk and as Materials Manager. Melinda enjoyed spending time with family- especially her grandkids, playing poker, going to the beach, and relaxing in her pool. Her outlook on life was always open, optimistic, and faithful.
Melinda was preceded in death by her father Norman Long of Rockport Missouri and late husband Paul Burns, of Streetman Texas.
She is survived by her husband John “Cowboy” Macke, children Henry, Heather Davis and husband Brian of Streetman Texas, and Ian Burns and wife Jennifer of Chesapeake Virginia. Grand children Jake, Kendra, Lynlee, Hayden, and Kylea.
Memorial Service was held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 5:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Streetman, Brother Ed Ridge officiating.
