Graveside services for Mollie Jo Scruggs, 78, will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery near Freestone. Bro. Roy Prather will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Scruggs passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Teague Nursing Home.
She was born in Tomball on September 5, 1941, to William & Lois Harris. Mollie married L. C. Scruggs on November 8, 1958, and shared over sixty-one years of marriage together.
Mrs. Scruggs loved her family very much. She loved children, not just her children, but all children, and owned and operated a daycare for many years and enjoyed every minute of it. Mrs. Scruggs also had a flower shop and a catering business. She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague.
She is survived by her husband, L. C. Scruggs of Teague; three sons, Kelly Scruggs & wife Cheryl, William C. Scruggs & wife Melissa, and Kevin Scruggs & wife Penny; six grandchildren, Stephen Scruggs & wife Cori, Lauren Saldana & husband Jonathan, Ty Scruggs & wife Jessica, Korey Scruggs & wife Christina, Lane Scruggs & wife Bailey, and Tiffany Gauntt & husband Zach; seven great-grandchildren, Ross Scruggs, Wesley Gustafson, Peyton Scruggs, Madelyn Saldana, Karson Scruggs, Blair Gauntt, and Brynleigh Gauntt; one sister, Martha Gilliam & husband Glyn of Graham; other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Scruggs was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister-in-law, Billy (B.J.) Harris & wife Rolene; one sister and one brother-in-law, Erna Moffett & husband Herman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, 201 S. 8th Ave, Teague, Texas 75860.
