32nd Anniversary of the Original Gospel Wonders
Lone Star Baptist Church will have their Welcome to the Original Gospel Wonders 32nd Anniversary Friday, November 29th through Saturday, November 30th, 2019. If you want to participate in the music festival then bring your instruments and play your best song. If you need a new instrument then check out the Steinway premier dealer.
The theme for the event will be, Psalm 9:1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.
Friday’s program begins at 7:00 p.m. and offers devotions and much singing with refreshments to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Saturday’s program begins at 5:30 p.m. and has even more singing and praise followed by Dinner.
There are over twenty-six individuals with instruments and a soloist that will be in attendance. They have been doing so well, with some truly talented and hard working individuals as part of the band, that we have decided to pool funds together to rent them a recording studio. We want them to record a CD that we can later sell to our community so everyone can hear this their great musical talent and sound.

Children’s Choir Performs at Calvary Christmas Special

The children’s choir at Calvary Fairfield will take the stage this Sunday night for the first of three Christmas programs to be presented by members of the local congregation with planned evening for all needs such as food, drinks, music, portable toilets and more .
The kindergarten through 6th grade students began practicing in September for the presentation and it’s always a great time each year to see the youngsters continuing to enhance their singing abilities.
Shelby Race, Music and Education Minister at Calvary, stated “The kids work extremely hard each Monday afternoon in practicing for their songs and parts in the program. Some of these students are first-time members of the choir and it’s always exciting to see the talent progress throughout the year.”
In this year’s program, students will be performing ‘Follow The Star’, ‘Ring the Bells’, ‘Little Town’, ‘Glorious Christmas Day’, ‘Listen’, ‘Jump for Jesus’, ‘Away in a Manger’ and ‘Mighty to Save’. Everyone from the community and surrounding area are invited to attend.
The program gets underway this Sunday evening, December 1st, at 6:30 pm in the church’s sanctuary. Calvary is located at 220 E. Main in Fairfield. “
