The City of Fairfield would like to remind the citizens that there is a city ordinance prohibiting dogs to roam freely.
The ordinance (Article 2.03 Dogs Section 2.003.002 Running at Large) specifies that a dog cannot be allowed to roam on any public ground or public road, as well as any unfenced piece of land.
To help enforce this ordinance, the City will be writing warnings and citations. Repeated violations can lead to seizure.
