Justin King was found guilty of evading with a motor vehicle and sentenced to 20 years incarceration on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019.
“After deliberation, a jury of 12 returned a max verdict of 20 years in prison,” explained District Attorney Bryan Evans
In February 2019 Justin King failed to pull his vehicle over when Deputy Justin Campbell attempted to stop him.
A high-speed chase began, and ended when King wrecked his vehicle in Streetman, Texas.
At that point it was discovered that King was wanted for multiple thefts in Freestone County.
This was not the first time King has seen the inside of a courtroom. His criminal history has many charges including, but not limited to, McLennan County DWI in 1993 to a Travis County aggravated robbery 2003.
King was defended by his defense attorney, Michal Dahlenburg, out of Groesbeck, Texas with Freestone County District Attorney’s office prosecuting King.
District Attorney Evans stated that, “I appreciate the hard work from everyone involved and will continue to seek justice for Freestone County.”
In addition to the evading with a motor vehicle there were two cases taken into consideration for his sentencing on this trial.
The first of the two cases was a Theft of Property less than $2500 with two previous convictions and there was also a Theft of Firearm – counts 1-3.
The Sheriff’s Office states, “Good work from beginning to end by our Sheriff’s Office and our District Attorney’s Office.”
King has filed an appeal with the courts on Thursday, October 10th, 2019.
