CARMEN CASHAT, CCC PRESIDENT (above) and member of the organization’s fundraiser committee, is shown with Kay Medders and daughter Samantha Medders, as they log in an early wave of items to be sold during the “Southside Fare” fundraiser October 19th.
The Community Care Club is excited to announce its 2019 fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, October19, beginning at 5 pm. It’s called the RC Lake “Southside Fare” and is an evening of fun and music accented by a tasty meal from any one of the three food vendors in the southside lake area—Spanky’s Beer & Wine, Fisherman’s Point Lighthouse Café and Cajun BobbyQ. Highlights of the event will be the music of The Hippie Tonks (Rayburn, Angela & Hajek) and a Silent Auction that has something for everyone at every price point.
Festivities will be held at the Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, 120 Southern Oaks Drive just off FM 416, east of Streetman, Texas. (Southern Oaks Drive is located beside the now-closed Shell Station on 416.)
All proceeds from this event go to the various charitable projects of the Community Care Club, a 501 (c)3 organization. Its projects include contributions for specific Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department needs, scholarships for area students, financial gifts to organizations that help children and young people, gifts for residents of area nursing homes, gifts to the Community Food Bank, and provision of funds for other community needs.
Meal tickets will be available for $12 per person ($7 for youngsters 12 and younger). Participants will then choose the meal they want from one of the three vendors.
‘We are beyond excited to celebrate our southside Richland Chambers Lake community’s food providers,” said Cashat, “and hope that everyone will come out and enjoy the fun at this event.”
