Dear Editor,

The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office would like to publicly say THANK YOU to our Commissioners Court for seeing the needs of our law enforcement agency and taking action where needed in order to insure those needs were better met in 2020. Budget time is never an easy period and there is always a lot to consider when making decisions for our county. In this specific budget, the Sheriff’s Office Jail and Dispatch were in desperate need of pay increases and funding; those needs were met thanks to our County Commissioners. Also receiving a pay increase were our Deputies who will see a 2% increase in pay beginning October 1st, 2019.
The Sheriff’s Office also received 3 new patrol vehicles, a transport van, and 2 additional Deputy Positions in order to assist in numerous transports carried out by our agency and to allow us to better serve and protect the citizens of Freestone County.
As the Sheriff of this great county, I would like to say to each Commissioner, Pct. 1 Mr. Andy Bonner, Pct. 2 Mr. Craig Oakes, Pct. 3 Mr. Michael Daniels, and Pct. 4 Mr. Clyde Ridge, as well as, our Honorable County Judge, Mrs. Linda Grant, THANK YOU for your show of support for our county law enforcement agency. We are grateful for the decisions that were made in order to better provide for our Sheriff’s Office employees, which, in turn, allow our office to better serve and protect our citizens.
We would also like to say THANK YOU to our Freestone County tax paying citizens. Our county budget is based off of the money we receive from our local tax payers and businesses. The show of appreciation and support this past year, as with previous years, is a blessing to our office. As I have stated before, our citizens and our law enforcement must work together in order for Freestone County to be the safest place it can be. We are glad to know our citizens and our county law enforcement are on the same team.
God Bless our Law Enforcement and God Bless the citizens of Freestone County.
